This exhibit showcases a collection of publicity booklets, film stills, movie-related ephemera, festival brochures and programs.While the bulk of the material pertains to Indian cinema, also present are materials pertaining to other South Asian (Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Afghanistan) as well as non-South Asian cinemas (Turkey for instance.

The items were collected by filmmaker, film historian, scholar, consultant, festival-goer and critic Lyle Pearson over six decades of film viewing at film festivals across the globe, from Europe to the United States to South Asia to North Africa.

Lyle, who prefers to be based in India, handed his collection to Sudhir Mahadevan, Associate Professor, Cinema Studies, University of Washington. Lyle wanted these resources to be digitized and make them accessible to anyone interested in them. It is to that end that this exhibit is a first step, and it only represents a portion of the materials Pearson has collected over the decades.
